Turkey Set to Facilitate Fresh Peace Negotiations Between Ukraine and Russia

by admin477351

Türkiye has once again expressed its readiness to facilitate new peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, as stated by Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov. During remarks in Kazan, Ushakov highlighted Türkiye’s willingness to provide a venue for negotiations aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict. This announcement came after discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian soil have complicated the chances of a direct meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ushakov noted. Despite these tensions, Türkiye has managed to maintain a balanced diplomatic stance since the conflict began, engaging with both Moscow and Kyiv. Previous negotiations hosted in Istanbul did not achieve a final settlement but marked significant efforts toward dialogue.

Türkiye continues to prioritize reducing tensions and achieving a peaceful resolution through continuous diplomatic efforts. Turkish officials have engaged in high-level discussions to explore potential avenues for ending the war and alleviating regional stress. As global political and security dynamics are influenced by the ongoing conflict, Türkiye stands out as a key mediator advocating for renewed diplomacy.

In addition to its role in mediating between Russia and Ukraine, Ushakov revealed that Russia is expecting updates from the United States following the G7 summit. Furthermore, senior American representatives are anticipated to visit Russia soon, indicating ongoing international dialogue regarding the conflict.
