Polish President Karol Nawrocki has begun a three-day official visit to the Philippines aimed at enhancing political, economic, and technological relations between the two nations. Accompanied by First Lady Marta Nawrocka, President Nawrocki will engage in a series of discussions and events designed to foster bilateral cooperation.
Key highlights of the visit include a meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to conduct bilateral and delegation-level talks. These discussions are expected to focus on areas of mutual interest and further strengthen the diplomatic ties between Poland and the Philippines.
President Nawrocki will also participate in the 5th Polish-Philippine IT Business Summit. Here, he will connect with business representatives to explore opportunities for enhanced economic collaboration. Additionally, he will engage with participants of a Polish-Philippine hackathon, reflecting an emphasis on technological partnerships.
The Polish president’s itinerary includes an interaction with students at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, where he will discuss the importance of educational exchanges. Furthermore, he will meet members of the Polish community and individuals who have played a role in fostering Polish-Philippine relations.
On the final day of his visit, President Nawrocki is scheduled to tour Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base. This visit is particularly significant as it highlights the defense ties between the countries, with the air base being home to Black Hawk helicopters manufactured by Poland’s PZL Mielec and used by the Philippine Air Force.
