by admin477351

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Ukraine has approved its long-range defense operations for October and has finalized plans to receive additional F-16 fighter jets by the end of the year. This decision is part of Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to bolster its air-defense capabilities amid ongoing tensions with Russia.

Zelensky announced that Ukraine is actively negotiating aviation support packages with several partner countries. Among the commitments, Belgium has agreed to supply three F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026. Additionally, Ukraine has received urgent deliveries of F-16 ammunition from Belgium and Spain, strengthening its immediate defense resources.

In response to the threat posed by Russia’s jet-powered Shahed drones, Ukraine is also developing new defense systems. Zelensky highlighted that the country has identified initial interceptor prototypes and is working on setting production targets, securing funding, and establishing delivery timelines for these new systems.

The developments underscore Ukraine’s drive to enhance its military readiness as the country prepares to face potential threats during the winter months. Ukrainian authorities are accelerating efforts to deploy high-speed drone interceptors and other advanced systems to counter increasingly sophisticated aerial threats from Russia.
