Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is set to visit Việt Nam from October 24 to 26, following an invitation from Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng. The visit aims to enhance cooperation between the two nations across various sectors including trade, education, science, culture, and political relations.
The diplomatic relationship between Việt Nam and Poland dates back to February 4, 1950, with both countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of their partnership in 2025. Over the years, the relationship has been strengthened through diplomatic dialogue, economic cooperation, and educational and cultural exchanges.
This visit by Prime Minister Tusk comes after former Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s official trip to Poland in January 2025, during which both nations agreed to work towards elevating their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
Bilateral trade between Việt Nam and Poland reached approximately $3.94 billion in 2025, marking a 14.8% increase from the previous year. Việt Nam exports electronics, machinery, garments, footwear, coffee, and other agricultural products to Poland, while Poland exports machinery, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food products to Việt Nam.
Tusk’s visit is expected to provide an opportunity to explore further economic opportunities and strengthen cooperation in key sectors. Both countries are keen on pursuing closer commercial ties and expanding collaboration in education, scientific research, and cultural exchanges.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by Việt Nam and Poland to deepen their longstanding relationship and advance their shared economic and diplomatic interests.
